Unite with Art
Denbigh cares about community, both locally and internationally, and in the month of June, we were involved in another two charity fundraisers.

Unite with Art is a contemporary art auction and gala to benefit UNICEF’s Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS campaign.

The inaugural gala was held on June 3, 2010 at Maynards Auction House and raised $460,000 for UNICEF.

Denbigh FAS donated transport, storage and framing services to this very worthwhile cause. Through the contribution of artists, galleries, sponsors and volunteers, Unite with Art aims to donate 100% of the art proceeds to this UNICEF campaign.



Over 2 million children under the age of 15 live with HIV, mostly due to mother-child transmissions. These children have fallen victim to this pandemic the world over, reaching from sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, Asia, to the Americas. Efforts to expand health care services and prevention measures will enable UNICEF to achieve a goal that will see a future generation of children living in an AIDS free world. It was a very successful auction evening and a lot of great artworks found new homes in local collections.

Ride to Conquer Cancer 2010



On June 18 and 19, 2010, two Denbighs rode in the Ride to Conquer Cancer 2010, raising awareness and money for ongoing cancer research. The father and son team, Ken and Sam Stephens, joined 2250 other riders for a 2 day epic journey covering 262 kms from Vancouver, BC to Seattle, Washington.

The ride was very challenging and included two flat tires, one broken spoke, numerous gear adjustments and a lot of hard work. It was also one of the most memorable and rewarding fundraisers we have ever been involved with, collectively netting 9.2 million for cancer research.

The money raised for the Ride to Conquer Cancer will benefit the BC Cancer Foundation and support leading clinicians, scientists and researchers who search for new discoveries and improvments to patient outcomes which will have a real impact in our communities throughout the province, across Canada, and around the world.
